how to find job after completion of Diploma of associate Engineer?

  • 0

After completing your Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE), you have many job options, especially in Pakistan, Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman), and even internationally. The key is to combine technical skills, networking, and smart job search.

Here’s a complete step-by-step guide on how to find a good job after DAE 👇

🎓 1. Identify Your Field & Career Direction

Choose jobs related to your DAE specialization:

DAE Field Common Job Titles
Mechanical Plant Operator, Maintenance Technician, HVAC Technician, Mechanical Draftsman
Electrical Electrical Technician, Control Technician, Panel Wiring, Substation Operator
Chemical Process Operator, Lab Technician, Water Treatment Operator, Safety Technician
Civil Site Supervisor, Quantity Surveyor, AutoCAD Draftsman, Quality Inspector
Electronics / Instrumentation Instrument Technician, Automation Technician, PLC Operator

👉 Tip: Focus on industrial sectors — refineries, fertilizers, power plants, oil & gas, manufacturing, and construction.

💼 2. Make a Strong CV / Resume

A DAE graduate’s CV should include:

  • Education details (Institute, Board, Year, Percentage)
  • Skills and software knowledge (AutoCAD, MS Office, PLC, etc.)
  • Internships or projects
  • Certifications (Safety, Computer, etc.)
  • Contact info (phone, email, city)

👉 I can create a professional DAE CV template for you (free) — want me to make one?

🌐 3. Search Jobs on Trusted Websites

Use these platforms daily:

Pakistan

  • Rozee.pk
  • Mustakbil.com
  • Indeed.com.pk
  • PaperAds.com
  • Jobz.pk

Gulf Jobs

  • NaukriGulf.com
  • Indeed Gulf
  • Bayt.com
  • GulfTalent.com
  • LinkedIn (make profile professional)

👉 Search with titles like:
“DAE Mechanical Technician – Saudi Arabia”
“Chemical Plant Operator – Pakistan”
“Electrical Technician – UAE”

🧠 4. Gain Experience Through Internships

If you’re fresh, even a 3–6 month internship helps a lot.

  • Apply to refineries, fertilizer plants, textile mills, and construction companies.
  • Even if it’s unpaid, it builds experience for future Gulf jobs.

📜 5. Add Short Certifications

These increase your hiring chances:

  • Safety Courses: OSHA, NEBOSH, Fire Safety, First Aid
  • Technical Courses: AutoCAD, PLC, CNC, HVAC, Instrumentation
  • IT Skills: Excel, MS Word, Email & Communication Skills

👉 Employers prefer DAE + Certification holders.

🤝 6. Use Networking

  • Stay in touch with teachers, seniors, and batchmates already working.
  • Join LinkedIn groups and Facebook pages (e.g., DAE Jobs in Pakistan, Technician Jobs in Gulf).
  • Attend technical job fairs or trade tests.

✈️ 7. Apply for Gulf Jobs (After Some Experience)

After 1–2 years of local experience, you can easily move to Gulf countries.

  • Visit ODA, Al-Khaleej, Al-Shirawi, Sound Lines, or Al-Waseem manpower agencies.
  • Apply for Plant Operator, Technician, or Supervisor roles.

📈 8. Keep Learning & Improving

Even after getting a job:

  • Learn new process technologies.
  • Study DCS, PLC, or SCADA basics.
  • Improve English communication and computer skills.

After completing a Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE), finding a job is not difficult—but you need the right direction and strategy.

🇬🇧 English (Simple & Human Answer)

First, decide your field (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Instrument, Chemical, etc.). Then:

      1. Prepare your CV

      Make a simple CV with:

      • Your DAE specialization
      • Internship or training (if any)
      • Skills (AutoCAD, PLC, electrical wiring, etc.)

      2. Apply in relevant industries

DAE holders are mostly hired in:

      • Oil & Gas plants
      • Power plants
      • Construction companies
      • Fertilizer & cement industries
      • Manufacturing factories

      3. Use job platforms

      Search daily on:

      • Rozee.pk
      • Indeed
      • LinkedIn
      • Company websites

      4. Visit companies directly

Many technical jobs in Pakistan are filled through walk-in interviews, so:

      • Visit industrial areas
      • Submit CV physically

      5. Build practical skills

      Companies prefer practical knowledge:

      • PLC basics (for electrical/instrument)
      • AutoCAD (for civil/mechanical)
      • Maintenance work experience

      6. Start small if needed

If you don’t get a good job immediately:

      • Join as trainee or technician
      • Gain 6–12 months experience
      • Then switch to better positions
